O's snap up Harnwell

LEYTON ORIENT have agreed a one-month contract with Jamie Harnwell after the Australian impressed in pre-season.

The defender has spent the entire summer training with the O's and made several appearances in the club's friendly matches.

Harnwell came to England after a highly successful spell at Australian outfit Perth Glory.

"Jamie has done very well with us, getting better and better all the time" Orient manager Paul Brush (pictured) told the club's website.

"He's had to acclimatise to some new surroundings but he's shown that he's a capable defender.

"It's a position we are short in at the moment, he's a big lad who is strong and very powerful in the air."

The month long contract will begin once Orient get international clearance for the 26-year old.

Meanwhile Orient's John Martin has joined Farnborough Town on a non-contract basis.
