Burrows bows out with a blast
The former Liverpool left back has hung up his boots after being released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season.
The 34-year-old has enjoyed some good time in the game, mainly during his spell at Anfield, but he was upset at the way his career ended.
'Bugsy' says that his final days in the game were soured by the emphasis placed on money instead of enjoying football.
"Near the end it wasn't a nice trade to be in," said Burrows.
"Chairmen put pressure on managers, and they transfer it to the players, all for results and money.
"It has become really cut-throat, and I've had enough of the politics of football."
Burrows has also spent time at Everton, West Ham, Coventry and Birmingham, as well as Wednesday, but says that some of his team-mates angered him with their own greed.
"It was great to play with enthusiastic lads but some earned a hell of a lot of money and couldn't be bothered."
Burrows has now decided to pack up his bags and move to France with his family to start his life after football.
