Sevilla unveil Baptista

SEVILLA have officially presented their new Brazilian signing Julio Baptista at The Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

The Primera outfit paid Sao Paulo around £1.75 million for the talented 21-year-old, and Baptista is confident he will prove a success in La Liga.

"I have come to Spanish football to demonstrate that I can triumph in Europe," said the midfielder.

Baptista will immediately link up with his new team-mates having only just arrived in Spain following his participation in the Gold Cup in which he helped guide Brazil to the semi-finals.

The youngster, who will wear the number 19 shirt for Sevilla next term, admitted he was looking forward to getting started at his new club.

"I hope to start working soon with my team-mates. I know Sevilla have good players."
