Abbiatti happy at Milan
The shot-stopper was subject of a bid from Arsenal in the summer, but was happy to reject the overtures of the Highbury club to pen a new deal at the San Siro.
"In football, like in life, no one can know the future, but me and my club's intentions have been bound to each other for a long time," said Abbiati.
"After Arsenal's offer, my agents went to club's offices and it wasn't difficult to reach an agreement."
While the Italian is not first choice with the Champions League holders behind Dida as number one, he is happy to fight for his place.
Abbiati featured in the club's Super Cup defeat to Juventus in New York, but it remains to be seen whether he starts the season in goal.
"I'm very happy to have played in the Super Cup in New York. I hope to play a lot this year," he added.
"I don't want to fall out with anyone, I will make the most of my chances."
