Parma confirm Mutu Chelsea sale

PARMA have confirmed that Adrian Mutu will complete a move to Chelsea.

As planetfootball exclusively revealed, earlier on Saturday, Mutu has only the final details to tie up before completing a move worth around ‚é¼22 million to join Roman Abramovich's revolution at Chelsea.

"AC Parma, in accordance with the player's wishes, and on the condition that an agreement with Chelsea is found, can announce the sale of the Romanian forward to the English club," read a statement released by Parma.

Mutu was one of the undoubted players of the season in Italy last season, playing a major part in helping Parma get into Europe.

The brilliant Romanian now looks set to join Chelsea in the coming couple of days, where he will play alongside the likes of Jean Sebastian Veron and Damien Duff who arrived at the club earlier in the summer.

English audiences may not realise the strength of Chelsea's potential new recruit, but Mutu has the ability to be one of the best players in the world, and his signing is a major coup.

Chelsea confirmed that they had agreed a fee with Parma, and will finalise a move for the player imminently.

"Chelsea and Italian club Parma have agreed a fee for Romanian international striker Adrian Mutu," read a statement from the club

"Discussions will now take place between Chelsea and the player over the proposed transfer."
