Trialist striker impresses Reid

LEEDS UNITED manager Peter Reid could be set to offer Lamine Sakho a deal, with the striker impressing on a trial spell at the club.

The 24-year-old, who is currently surplus to requirements at Marseille, is likely to join on a 12-month loan deal.

The Whites recently set-up similar arrangements with Zoumana Camara and Didier Domi, where the club can purchase the player in a year's time.

Although the former Black Cats manager had only seen tapes of the player prior to the weekend, he was impressed with his displays in Dublin.

The Yorkshire side lost on penalties to Aston Villa on Saturday, following a 2-2 draw, before crashing to a humiliating defeat to Shelbourne on Sunday.

"I've been impressed with the French lad and he's done really well," said Reid on the hit-man. "I'm pleased with him."

With star striker Mark Viduka eyeing the Elland Road exit door, Reid is keen to strengthen his attacking options as soon as possible.
