Real issue Makelele statement

FRENCH star Claude Makelele has undergone medical examinations with Real Madrid and they have conceded he is currently unfit to play.

The wantaway midfielder has missed training over the last few days, which saw Real threaten him with legal action from Fifa.

However, the player's representatives told planetfootball.com on Thursday that he had an official medical certificate to miss training and now this has been verified by Real's own doctors.

Real have released a statement, highlighting four points on Makelele's situation:
1) Clinically Makelele has a slight emotional problem, according to our medical examination on Friday morning.
2) After five days without training, we are advising a special system that will begin on Saturday.
3) The player will not travel for the friendly with Valencia on Sunday and he will not be authorised to travel for France's game with Switzerland in Geneva next Wednesday.
4) The player will take on a special plan for the next five or six days to recover his physical form.

So Real are insisting that Makelele returns to training on Saturday and the Frenchman is likely to abide by this as his move to Chelsea seems to be nearing.

Real president Florentino Perez has been enraged at the attitude shown by Makelele, but he will not hand him a new contract and so a move looks the most likely option.

Chelsea are still hoping to meet with Perez and sporting director Jorge Valdano on Monday, when a near £10 million could very well be brokered.
