Ailton - I'm better than Makaay

The controversial hit-man, never short of a word or two, has already stated that he will win the Golden Boot in this season's Bundesliga, after narrowly missing out on the award last season.

Makaay is set to make his Bundesliga debut against Bochum at the weekend and the Brazilian star claims that the Dutchman will find things very different in Germany from his time at La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna

He told German paper Bild: "In Spain, they play a completely different type of football to here.

"There you have time to show some tricks and let the ball do the work, but here you've got the defenders down on you immediately. Makaay's going to have a tough time in the Bundesliga."

Ailton (pictured) admitted that he had found it difficult to adjust to life in the German top flight at first, but the 30-year-old's confession did nothing to dampen his self belief.

"I love the Bundesliga and the Bundesliga loves me," he added. "It's a big advantage and that's why I'm better than Makaay."
