Ronaldo hungry for goals

RONALDO has blasted comments about him being out of shape, and says that he is in good enough condition to bang in 35 goals this season.

The Brazilian marksman has been slated in recent times for his weight, but has still been knocking in goal after goal for Real Madrid.

The former Barcelona and Inter man has shown some great form during pre-season for Carlos Queiroz's side.

Ronaldo insists he is getting into shape for the season, and has set a target of scoring at least 35 goals this coming campaign.

"The truth is that I notice I am in good physical condition," Ronaldo told AS.

"I am very well and I have a lot of optimism for this season. It would be good for me, and Real Madrid, that things went well for me.

"I want this to be a great season for Ronaldo and Real Madrid.

"This year I will score more than 35 goals. That is my new bet. My objective is to surpass the 30 goals that I scored last season.

"I train on my own sometimes because we have tests to see what will suit each player and what every different player needs.

"In addition to aerobic condition, it is explosion and speed that I need. This is part of my game."
