Makaay happy with Bayern debut
Europe's Golden Boot winner had only one clear chance, but he helped to set up Bayern's opener when his pass sent Jens Jeremies clear, who finally saw the unmarked Claudio Pizarro with 20 minutes gone before Sebastian Deisler's blistering free-kick doubled Bayern's lead five minutes later.
"I am satisfied with my debut, the team won 2-0 and that's what counts," said Makaay. "I have just joined training, while the others have already started some weeks ago. I might be at 70 percent and will need some more time to get used to my team-mates."
Makaay could have opened his account five minutes before he was finally substituted by Giovane Elber, but Bochum's keeper Rein Van Duijnhoven blocked his shot from ten yards as surprisingly Bochum dominated the entire second half, but failed to beat Oliver Kahn.
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was satisfied with Makaay's debut.
"In the first half our team played very well, but it was obvious that Makaay and the team will need some more time to get used to each other. Roy was offside a couple of times and he should think about dropping behind to midfield more often to avoid this danger, but we will give him all the time he needs," said Rummenigge.
