Blackburn confirm Baggio move
The former Italian international is now training with Rovers, while talks over a possible deal commence.
The 32-year-old shunned a move to Wolves earlier this summer, but he is now seriously considering the prospect of a switch to Ewood Park.
Lazio have already informed Baggio that he can leave either on loan or on a free transfer.
Rovers are looking to bolster their squad before the transfer deadline shuts at the end of August and Baggio would certainly add quality to Graeme Souness's midfield options.
Souness confirmed that he was looking at Baggio.
"Dino is vastly experienced, he is out of favour at Lazio, but given their squad that is not a problem to us," said Souness.
"He is undoubted quality, he is not fit enough to play a game at the moment - we will take a look at him.
"We will see what happens, but first impressions are very good and he has done very well so far."
He confirmed he wanted to seal a loan move for Liverpool's Markus Babbel.
"We are speaking about Markus Babbel, about a loan move with a view to a possible transfer as I feel we are short in defence and in midfield so we might do both of them and also buy somebody," he added.
