Forest wrap up Tarka deal

NOTTINGHAM FOREST have completed their move for Australian starlet David Tarka, handing the defender a three-year deal.

After agreeing a fee for the Perth Glory star on Wednesday, Forest moved swiftly to agree personal terms with the player and will now await international clearance.

Tarka had trials with several clubs, including Premiership side Portsmouth, before agreeing to move to Paul Hart's Forest.

The highly-rated centre back has emerged as one of his nation's best up-and-coming stars, and will be hopeful of having a major impact in England.

"This a great move for me," Tarka told Forest's official website. "I've achieved everything I wanted to achieve in Australian football and moving to England really was the next step.

"I had two weeks with Portsmouth but things didn't really work out there. I jumped at the opportunity when Forest offered me a trial and am delighted to have signed a contract with the Club.

"I'm really looking forward to my time at The City Ground. Forest is a club with a great history and it's a honour to be here."
