Makelele included in Madrid squad

WANTAWAY Real Madrid midfielder Claude Makelele has been included in the side's squad to face Real Mallorca in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup this weekend.

The French international is keen on a move away from the Spanish giants with Chelsea believed to be keen on his signature.

Makelele is unhappy with his current deal at El Santiago Bernabeu as he feels he is undervalued in relation to some of the club's other stars and Madrid have refused to meet his demands.

The former Celta Vigo star ended a week long strike on Thursday when he refused to train with his team-mates, but Real coach Carlos Queiroz is happy to include in his squad for the clash with Mallorca

"Makelele is a player of the group like any other, and is physically well integrated in the team," said Queiroz. "There is no institutional disciplinary restriction and, therefore, it seems to me an opportune time to summon him."

Queiroz has left out Fernando Morientes and Santiao Solari out of the squad as he is only able to name a 16-man squad.

"I can take sixteen players and have only chosen those whom I have considered the best ones at the moment for our interest and that we are going to play three matches in next the nine days".
