Chelsea agree Makelele fee

The 30-year-old star is now due in England in the next 24 hours, when he should seal his move to Stamford Bridge.

Blues supremo Roman Abramovich met with his Real counterpart Florentino Perez in Monaco on Thursday, following the Champions League draw.

The Russian wasted little time in agreeing terms with Perez and he then gave The Blues permission to officially speak with Makelele.

Jamie Ladjemi, the London-based partner of Marc Roger, confirmed to planetfootball.com that Makelele was due to seal his move by Saturday.

"The offer has now been made and the deal looks set," Ladjemi confirmed.

"There are a few details still to sort out between the clubs, but we expect everything to be sorted at the club by Saturday."

Makelele is set to sign a four-year deal with Chelsea and his move will take Abramovich's summer spending through the £100 million barrier.
