Villarreal dealt Josico blow
VILLARREAL midfielder Josico is to undergo surgery on a knee injury and will be out of action for six weeks.
The 28-year-old will now miss the kick-off to the new Spanish season, and becomes Villarreal's second long-term injury victim.
Brazilian Marcos Senna has already been ruled out for several months, and Josico's problem has now left the club with only 16 fit professionals.
"Josico has a knee problem that he sustained during a sharp turn, but he will have to have surgery on it," said Villarreal club doctor Juan Alborch.
