Toffees swoop for Kilbane

EVERTON have completed a busy day in the transfer market by snapping up Kevin Kilbane from Sunderland.

The Republic of Ireland international becomes the fourth new face at Goodison Park in a hectic day of business following the captures of Francis Jeffers, James McFadden and Nigel Martyn.

Kilbane has been looking to leave Sunderland after rejecting a new deal at the Stadium of Light last month.

Everton boss David Moyes is a big fan of Kilbane having had him under his charge at Preston and sees him as a key addition to his squad.

Kilbane will help fill the void left by Mark Pembridge's departure to Fulham and along with McFadden, Jeffers and Martyn he will increase competition for places at Goodison Park.
