Ronaldo sets Pele goal
Pele is the Brazilian record holder after netting 77 goals in 92 appearances for the five-time World Cup winners.
But Ronaldo has Pele's figure in his sights after firing in 54 goals in 79 outings for his national team.
With the Conmebol World Cup qualifiers due to commence this weekend, Ronaldo has set himself a target of netting 13 goals en route to Brazil's expected passage to the finals in Germany.
The Real Madrid hot shot will start his quest against Colombia this Sunday and is using the motivation of Pele's record to help him achieve his goals.
"I will be getting nearer to his (Pele's) number of goals slowly but for these qualifiers I want to score at least 13 goals," affirmed Ronaldo.
"I don't want to compare myself with Pele but I think that I can reach that number of goals.
"It is a good way for motivating myself even more for playing for Brazil."
