Osasuna hit by triple injury setback

OSASUNA are still counting the cost of their home defeat to Valencia on Tuesday after three players were left with injuries.

The most serious knock was picked up by Argentine midfielder Gerardo Rivero (pictured) who tore the meniscus in his left knee.

The 28-year-old has already had the problem operated on, and is likely to be out of action for six to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, defender Josetxo strained his right ankle and has been ordered to completely rest the injury until next week.

Finally, Australian striker John Aloisi picked up a slight hamstring strain, although both he and Josetxo are expected to be fit for Osasuna's next league game with Atletico Madrid.

There was some positive news for the Navarra-based outfit on the injury front however as defender Unai Exposito has begun training again after being sidelined with a badly broken nose.
