Desailly praises Roman revolution
The Russian oil magnate has spent over £100 million on bringing in new players to Stamford Bridge this season and Desailly revealed that the club's new owner is expecting instant results on the pitch.
Desailly has tried to play down the clamour surrounding the club and insists it will take time for the new-look side to gel and bring success to West London.
"People talk a lot about the amount of money that was spent to snatch new faces," said Desailly. "But serious things will take place next year.
"With 10 new players this is not possible to have a perfect team just like that. We need time and patience.
"We have not been asked to win the title this year but to keep progressing and keep our public happy. There is no pressure at all on us this season. Mr Abramovich is a clever man.
"You can sense from the way he looks that he isn't mad. He's got a family with four children, he lives in Russia."
