Sakiri admits Becks death threat

WEST BROM'S Macedonian star Artim Sakiri has somewhat surprisingly admitted that he did issue a death threat to David Beckham, but insisted that the comment was no worse than swearing.

England captain Beckham became the target of increasing fury from the stands as he led his nation to a 2-1 victory, and the ill-feeling spilled over onto the pitch.

A clash with Sakiri, towards the end of the game, angered the Macedonian star, and Beckham admitted afterwards that he received a threat to his life.

But Sakiri has come forward to admit that he was the culprit, although he does not appear to overly regret the comment.

"People say things like 'I'll kill you' during the games, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen," said Sakiri.

"Did anything happen to Beckham? Players in England swear all the time during matches."
