More surgery for Dolan

MILLWALL have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Joe Dolan will miss the next six weeks after undergoing knee surgery.

Dolan was sent to see a specialist after failing to shake off a cruciate knee ligament injury picked up in November.

An exploratory operation unearthed scar tissue which was subsequently removed.

The club are now confident Dolan will be able to return to peak fitness, but he faces at least six weeks on the sidelines.

"Everything else is fine," Lions boss Mark McGhee told the club's website. "Joe will have to work in the gym and with the physio again, but he should be back in squad training within the next six weeks."

Dolan has had a torrid time with injury in recent seasons, as the 23-year-old made just two appearances last term, and McGhee will relish finally having the opportunity to call on the defender again.

In other news, McGhee is looking to persuade defender David Livermore and keeper Tony Warner to extend their respective deals at the New Den.
