Zidane and Zahovic doubts for clash

FRANCE star Zinedine Zidane and Slovenia ace Zlatko Zahovic are both doubtful for Wednesday's Euro 2004 Group One qualifier on Wednesday between the two sides.

Zidane, who missed France's 5-0 victory over Cyprus on Saturday, faces a last test on a thigh injury at Ljubljana's Central Stadium.

France coach Jacques Santini admitted that Zidane is keen to play in the game.

"If he passes the test, he will play against Slovenia," said Santini. "Zinedine really wants to play this game."

Slovenia playmaker Zahovic is also struggling with a thigh muscle problem and Slovenia coach Bojan Prasnikar revealed he is a major doubt.

"Zlatko Zahovic has problems with his thigh muscles so his appearance in the team tomorrow is questionable," said Prasnikar.

Slovenia need a draw to secure a play-off spot for next year's European Championships in Portugal while France require a single point to qualify directly as group winners.
