Vieri gives Inter good news

INTERNAZIONALE have received some good news concerning the ankle injury suffered by Christian Vieri.

The striker suffered the problem on international duty during Italy's Euro 2004 qualifying game against Serbia & Montenegro.

After scans on Friday it has been confirmed the player will not require surgery and has only suffered slight damage to the ligaments around the ankle joint.

Vieri is definitely out of the Serie A fixture against Siena at the weekend and remains doubtful for the Nerazzurri's opening Champions League clash against Arsenal next week.

Siena have also been dealt a blow ahead of the game on Sunday with striker Tore Andre Flo ruled out after picking up an injury on international duty for Norway.
