Saddlers bag Burton

WALSALL have sealed the loan capture of Portsmouth striker Deon Burton.

The Jamaican international has been shuffled down the pecking order at Fratton Park following their promotion to The Premiership, with manager Harry Redknapp giving his approval to a loan move.

The 26-year-old has signed a month-long loan deal, and will be drafted into The Saddlers' squad for their weekend fixture with Derby at the Bescot Stadium.

The capture of Burton will come as a relief to Saddlers chief Colin Lee, who has been scouring the market for some added firepower for a number of weeks.

With little chance of securing first-team football at Portsmouth, Burton will hope to make an impression at Walsall in the hope of earning an extended deal.
