LAZIO - ONE TO WATCH - BENARDO CORRADI

BERNARDO CORRADI has been hailed as the latest golden boy of Italian football after impressing last season.

The 27-year-old has been something of a late developer in the game having plied his trade in the lower leagues of Italian football until 1999 when he joined Cagliari.

Corradi first rose to prominence at Chievo a year later helping the unfashionable side win promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history.

The big powerful striker impressed in his debut season in Serie A scoring ten goals as Chievo surprised many by qualifying for Europe.

Inter snapped him but he was sold to Lazio as part of the deal to bring Hernan Crespo to the Giuseppe Meazza last summer.

Corradi scored ten goals last season for Lazio helping them reach the Champions League and his meteoric rise to stardom was completed last February when he scored on his Italy debut against Portugal.
