Dons fine Hinds
Hinds admitted being involved in the incident which took place in a Newcastle club and after talks with the club he was handed the maximum fine possible.
"Leigh has been told in no uncertain terms that his behaviour is wholly unacceptable as an employee of Aberdeen Football Club and he has been fined the maximum amount possible," said Dons chief executive Keith Wyness.
"In addition, he has received a formal written warning and he is under no illusions that any repeat will simply not be tolerated."
Former Wimbledon ace Hinds, who joined Aberdeen from Clyde in January, has apologised for the incident and is looking to concentrate on his football.
He said: "It was a carry-on that got completely out of hand and I certainly did not mean to harm David.
"I have apologised to him and I would also like to apologise to everyone connected with Aberdeen as I know I have let a lot of people down.
"Anyone who knows me will be aware that this was totally out of character and I just wish I could turn the clock back.
"I now just want to put all of this behind me and concentrate on playing football and doing my best for The Dons."
