Bruce wants flying Finn for longer
The Finnish international is on a four-month initial loan move to St Andrews but has impressed Blues boss Bruce with his performance so far.
The Nordic star scored twice on his debut against Fulham on Sunday and Bruce admits he hopes to keep the player in his ranks until the end of the season, having recently sold Geoff Horsfield to Wigan.
Stamford Bridge boss Claudio Ranieri is not expected to stand in Forssell's way as he is unlikely to establish himself in the Chelsea first team this season with the West Londoner's further strengthening their attacking options with Hernan Crespo and Adrian Mutu.
Bruce said: "Mikael has been very impressive for club and country. He's top quality and hopefully we can keep him for the rest of the season."
