Hajto found guilty of smuggling
POLAND international and Schalke star Tomasz Hajto has been fined ‚é¼180,000 by a German court after being found guilty of smuggling cigarettes.
German police had arrested a ring of Polish smugglers earlier this year and finally implicated the defender, who had stored more than 110 giant packages of illegal cigarettes in his house in Duisburg.
"Yes, I have been involved in big s*** here and I am terribly sorry for it," said Hajto.
"But I did not sell those cigarettes, for example I handed them to club fans for free."
Schalke 04 are yet to decide if they will also punish the player.
