Latics release Antoine-Curier

OLDHAM ATHLETIC have released French striker Mickael Antoine-Curier from their Boundary Park squad.

The 20-year-old joined Iain Dowie's side on the eve of the start of the new season, having signed non-contract terms with the Second Division crisis club.

He scored three goals in three matches last month before failing to find the scoresheet in his last five outings.

With the arrival of Calvin Zola Makongo on loan from Premiership side Newcastle United, and the return to fitness of Chris Killen, the cash-strapped Latics have decided to let the striker leave Boundary Park.

The former Nottingham Forest man will now need to look for pastures new following his release in the summer from The City Ground.
