Schalke impressed by Alcides
SCHALKE 04 are keen to extent the stay of 18-year-old defender Eduardo Alcides after the Brazilian right back impressed during the early stages of the season.
The youngster, on loan from Bahia, has been one of the few positives in an otherwise disappointing advent to the season for Jupp Heynckes' side.
While established players like Tomasz Hajto and Tomasz Waldoch struggle to find their form, Heynckes has given Alcides a chance to play and has been impressed by the pace and athleticism of the tall youngster.
"We really want to keep him. He could still play for our juniors and will turn into a very good player," declared director of sport Andreas Muller.
Alcides is now in a strong position to earn himself a long-term contract at the ArenaAufSchalke.
