Gray hopes for Premiership move

BLACKBURN ROVERS trialist Julian Gray is set to be given the chance to win himself a move to Ewood Park by playing in the reserves on Wednesday.

Gray is currently on trial at Rovers after seeing out his contract at Crystal Palace and he is keen to secure a move to The Premiership.

Charlton have also expressed an interest in signing the 23-year-old and Gray is hopeful of winning a move to either one of the clubs.

"At this stage in my career I just want to play in The Premiership," said Gray.

"I just want the opportunity to play and show what I can do.

"Blackburn and Charlton are both big clubs, they are both up there, so hopefully I can sign for one of them.

"When you go to a club like Blackburn and see the players they have already got it makes you want to do well and be among those kind of players all the time."

Rovers boss Graeme Souness is set to watch the winger in action against West Brom and will decide whether or not to sign him after seeing him in a competitive game.

"We'll have a look at Julian in a competitive game and then come to some decision after that," said Souness.

Gray can still sign for either club as he is available on a free transfer although Palace are entitled to some form of compensation as he is under 24.
