Benitez: Aimar better than Ronaldinho

Valencia boss Rafa Benitez insists he would always rather have Pablo Aimar in his side than Barcelona star Ronaldinho.

Speaking ahead of the Che's league encounter with the Catalans this weekend, Benitez paid tribute to both Ronaldinho and Barca, but insisted he would not swap Aimar at any price.

"Barcelona are quite a lot stronger with Ronaldinho. For me, though, Aimar is better, even more so because I coach him," said the former Tenerife chief.

"Ronaldinho is an excellent player but I like Aimar more."

Benitez also went on to argue that Barca under new boss Frank Rijkaard are failing to play to their strengths despite a solid start to the new campaign.

"They have organisation and order on the pitch, and three or four great players," he continued.

"They have great potential and a lot of possibilities, but without wanting to be a critic I believe they fail to exploit their qualities.

"But they are more dangerous now because the new players want to demonstrate their ambition, and the club needs to win titles."
