Urzaiz renews Athletic deal
Spanish international Ismael Urzaiz has renewed his contract at Athletic Bilbao.
A clause in his previous contract stated that the Basque club would review his deal after 40 games, a landmark he passed when he played against RS Gimnastica de Torrelavega in the Copa del Rey.
Urzaiz has now agreed a new contract which will last until June 2005.
However, the 32-year-old was unable to stop his side slipping to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to the third division side.
It was a bad night all round for Athletico, as 24-year-old centre back Luis Preto suffered a broken toe during the match.
