Evra admits Arsenal admiration
The highly rated French Under-21 star has had a very good start to the new season and the interest in him is intense.
Barcelona and Arsenal tried to sign him in 2002 when he left Nice, but Monaco persuaded him to stay in French football and go with them.
Juventus, Liverpool and Milan have since joined the race and now the clubs are jostling for position in a bid to capture one of the brightest prospects in Le Championnat.
"I know that a lot of clubs like Arsenal, Milan, Juventus and Barcelona are following me," said Evra.
"I know that Arsenal are interested and I admire Arsene Wenger, my agent has talked with him.
"But for the moment I am happy to play with Monaco.
"We have a good team and I have no regrets about staying here this season."
After a blistering first season in The Principality, it was thought that Evra would depart - but he decided to stay for at least one more campaign to help his international chances.
Evra, who plays as a wing back but is likely to develop into a central midfielder, is part of France's impressive Under-21 set-up and he is already being tipped for full international honours in the near future.
The Senegal-born star began his career with Paris Saint Germain - after growing up in the same neighbourhood as Thierry Henry - but he failed to make the breakthrough at Parc des Princes and moved to Italy.
After stints with Marsala and Monza, he moved back to France with Nice and he has not looked back.
His agent Federico Pastorello confirmed to skysports.com that there is constant interest in his client.
"There are a number of clubs following him, Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Barcelona and many more - but we have known this for a long time," Pastorello confirmed.
"He is happy at the moment with the way things are going, we are trying to sort things out with his salary - but apart from that things are very good for him."
Juventus are reported to have taken out a 'first option' on the player with Monaco, and Pastorello admitted he had heard about that.
"I have seen in Italy that Juve have agreed some deal to have first option on Patrice, but neither of the clubs have informed us of that," he said.
"At the moment Patrice is not too concerned with that sort of thing, he will definitely be staying until next summer and we will look at things then."
