Hasselbaink dropped by Holland

By Gerrit van Leeuwen
Holland coach Dick Advocaat has named an 18-man squad for their Euro 2004 qualifier against Moldova and there is no place for Chelsea's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Manchester United's Ruud van Nistelrooy already knew that he had been omitted, but the news of Hasselbaink's absence has come as a surprise.

Edgar Davids and Mark van Bommel are both suspended for the clash, which has no bearing on the result in Group 3 as Czech Republic have already sealed top spot.

"With these 18 players we must produce a good result against Moldova," said Advocaat.

"We must stand up and show how good we are after the defeat to Czech Republic.

"We must put the disappointment of Prague behind us and look clearly at the play-offs."

Squad in full: Waterreus (PSV), Van der Sar (Fulham); F de Boer (Galatasaray), Stam (Lazio), Ooijer (PSV), Reiziger (Barcelona), Van Bronckhorst (Barcelona), Zenden (Middlesbrough), Bosvelt (Manchester City), Cocu (Barcelona), Sneijder (Ajax), Overmars (Barcelona), Robben (PSV), Van der Meyde (Internazionale), Van der Vaart (Ajax), Makaay (Bayern Munich), Kluivert (Barcelona), Van Hooijdonk (Fenerbahce).
