Leonard could face City

Belgian defender Philippe Leonard could make his Bolton Wanderers debut this weekend after impressing while on trial.

The 27-year-old left-sided stopper has caught the eye of manager Sam Allardyce while training at the Reebok.

Bolton line up against Manchester City on Saturday, and Leonard could be in the squad should terms be agreed.

The Belgian is not subject to transfer window restrictions as he is out of contract and available for nothing, after departing Monaco.

"We are looking at ways and means of sorting out a deal with him," confirmed Allardyce on Leonard.

Allardyce is currently short on defensive options after Florent Laville ruptured his cruciate ligament back in September, meaning a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
