Riise shocked by scandal
John Arne Riise has been shocked by all the recent scandal in English football, and vowed never to let the high-rolling lifestyle change him.
The Norwegian international says that his feet are still firmly on the ground despite the massive wages and lifestyle he leads as a professional footballer.
"I will never take off and get the star behaviour, I can promise that," Riise told VG.
"I'm still first out of the coach and eager as before."
Riise does not think he has changed since he got his breakthrough into professional football and representing Liverpool.
He added: "I don't come from a rich family and I have a lot of contact with my friends at home in Norway.
"So I can put myself into other people's situations. But of course it can be difficult sometimes when you are out and people just stare at you.
"The situation in England is frightening. Such episodes shouldn't happen.
"When I came to England I heard the talk about players that drank too much. Luckily that wasn't correct, but what has happened lately is very serious.
"I hope that this will not give us a bad reputation."
