Stankovic confirms English thoughts
The Roman giants have been in talks with the Serbia-Montenegrin ace for months about a new deal, as his current contract expires in the summer.
Stankovic is one of the most highly rated midfielders in Serie A and Lazio are desperate to secure his signature on a new contract.
The 24-year-old has played most of his career with Lazio, after moving to the Eternal City from Crvena Zvezda in 1998.
However, Lazio have still not been able to secure Stankovic's future and now a host of clubs from Europe are monitoring his situation.
From January 1, clubs from Spain and England can hold official talks with the player and Lazio are seemingly worried about losing their talisman.
Stankovic has now confirmed that he would consider a move to The Premiership, where Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked.
"I like a few teams in England, like Manchester, Chelsea or Arsenal," Stankovic said.
"But I have not thought this one or that one could be 'my team'. I follow English football a lot - in the last few years it has dramatically."
Most of Italy's elite are also in the queue to land Stankovic, but Lazio are still hopeful that he will stay.
