FA to probe Wright bust-up
The ex-Arsenal attacker celebrated the opening goal from his adopted son Shaun Wright-Phillips in typically ebullient fashion, which irked home supporters sitting in close proximity to the television celebrity.
Both QPR officials and City boss Kevin Keegan helped calm the situation swiftly, although Wright has accused a 42-year-old fan of racially abusing him.
The supporter was arrested, as was a second fan in a separate incident, following an altercation with an Asian steward.
"We are contacting QPR to establish what exactly happened," commented an FA spokesman.
"Our understanding is that a fan was arrested, but it is important we have conversations with QPR officials to establish the facts."
Wright witnessed a comfortable win for City which smoothed their passage into the next round of the competition.
"Their guy started having a word about Shaun and it got racial," complained Wright.
