Viander signs Pilgrims deal
Viander linked up with The Pilgrims earlier in the week and his performance in the reserve team clash against Cardiff has earned him a month's contract.
The 28-year-old has gone straight into the squad for Saturday's Second Division encounter against Oldham, with Paul Sturrock eager to see if Viander is worthy of a longer deal.
"He looked good (in the reserves) but obviously a little rusty," said the Pilgrims manager.
"It was only one game but he could be just what we want. We shall see if he can fit in with our set-up."
Viander was available on a free transfer after being released by Stoke City and he undertook trials at Crystal Palace and Luton Town before clinching a chance at Home Park.
Sturrock had been in the market for a keeper after losing first choice Romain Larrieu to injury and Viander has the opportunity to stake his claim for a more permanent contract.
