Mihajlovic accepts Uefa ban

Lazio defender Sinisa Mihajlovic has decided not to appeal the eight-game ban imposed on him following his spat with Chelsea's Adrian Mutu.

The Serbia & Montenegro international was hit with a massive eight match ban on Friday after being caught on camera spitting at Mutu during his side's defeat to Chelsea last week.

Mihajlovic also kicked an opponent and showed "improper conduct" towards an official after he was sent off for his second yellow card in the match.

Mihajlovic had until Monday to respond to the charge, but he decided not to appeal the ban.

Lazio agreed with Mihajlovic not to appeal Uefa's suspension although the former Sampdoria ace has been fined £20,000 Swiss Francs as well as an undisclosed fine from his club.
