Russia want Giggs banned
The Russians are fuming with Giggs regarding an alleged elbowing incident during the second half of Saturday's 0-0 draw in Moscow.
Giggs reacted to an awful challenge from Vadim Evseev by appearing to catch the full back in the head with his arm.
The incident was not spotted by referee Lucilio Batista but Russia are determined that Uefa take action against the Manchester United star.
"We have already sent Uefa the tape so they can have a closer look at the incident," executive director of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Tukmanov told Reuters.
The RFU's president Vyacheslav Koloskov also wants to see Giggs banned for the return leg in The Millennium Stadium but fears he will escape censure.
Koloskov told Sport-Express newspaper: "Giggs's actions clearly violate the principles of fair play.
"He should have been red carded then and that means he would have to be suspended for the second leg.
"The problem is there's little time for Uefa (to take action) before the game."
While Giggs may not be suspended by Uefa, Russia may get their wish for the wide man to be unavailable as he is struggling with the shin injury suffered in the challenge with Evseev.
