McLaren blow for Owls
The 27-year-old has been playing through the pain barrier in recent weeks but Owls boss Chris Turner says that it is now time to get the problem sorted.
"Paul saw a specialist last week and, although he could continue for a few more weeks, I think it's best to have the problem sorted out so he can return as soon as possible," Turner told the club website.
McLaren will now miss the visit of former club Luton Town to Hillsborough as The Owls look to heave themselves up the Division Two table from 14th position.
Turner has a host of injuries at the moment with the likes of Terry Cooke, Matthew Hamshaw, Paul Smith, Craig Armstrong and Richard Evans all injured and most of them will be unavailable until the New Year.
