Dario Silva eyes Penarol return
Sevilla striker Dario Silva says that he would welcome a return to the Uruguayan national side, and says that he wants to return to Penarol before he retires.
The 31-year-old says that a recent pay dispute has kept him out of the Uruguay side, but now that it has been resolved he would be happy to represent his country again.
"If I didn't get paid I wouldn't have returned to the national team but now everything has been resolved so I am ready to be called on by the coach," said Dario Silva.
He also explained about the conflict that he had some time ago with the board members of the Uruguayan Football Federation.
"I always said what I thought was right. The federation was owing us a lot of money from the South American qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup and I said clearly that if I wasn't paid I wasn't going to play anymore for the national team.
"But now everything has been resolved, I have been paid and now I am ready to be called by the coach when he decides to."
The former Malaga man says that he would like to return to Uruguay and play for former club Penarol before he retires from the game.
"My idea has always been to return to Penarol and retire wearing their shirt but I will have to analyse some things first.
"But many times I have thought of ending my career in Europe and then play four or five games for Penarol.
"I want to spend more time with my family, have fun with my kids and when I end my career they will be mature and I'll be able to enjoy them much more."
