Lescott op deemed a success

Wolves defender Joleon Lescott's knee operation has been deemed a massive success by the club.

The highly-rated defender has failed to feature for Wolves this season after undergoing surgery on both knees in the summer.

Lescott travelled to America to consult world renowned knee specialist Dr Richard Steadman after suffering a recurrence in training and indications are that the operation went well.

"The operation went well. They found a crack within the cartilage, which is on the surface of the joint and that's a fresh injury to the one that led to the boy having the two operations over the summer," Jones told the club's official website.

"The doctors have now repaired the cartilage and we'll have to look at all the reports and everything when Jo and Rob come back.

"It's not worth putting a time scale on how long Jo will be out again just yet.

"The most important thing is that the operation went well and once he's back in our care we can then look at the X-rays and see how everything has gone. It's only then that we can consider how long it'll take Jo to get back into full training."
