Baros boosts Liverpool

Milan Baros has handed Liverpool a timely boost by revealing he expects to be playing again by Christmas.

The Czech Republic star was expected to be sidelined until well into the New Year after breaking his ankle against Blackburn in September.

However, the youngster's rate of recovery has astounded Liverpool's medical team and he has been given the green light to intensify his fitness programme.

"I have started running again now so everything is progressing really well," said the striker.

"I still think it will be four weeks before I'm able to kick the ball in training. But I would say I'm ahead of schedule and will be back sooner than I first thought.

"Originally I thought I wouldn't be playing until January but I'm hoping it will be around Christmas time."
