Wenger praise for Aliadiere
A predominately second string Gunners dominated Wolves with a 5-1 drubbing at Highbury and it was Aliadiere who produced the star turn.
The 20-year-old pounced twice in the victory and now the latest Clairefontaine (French FA footballing academy) graduate to make his mark in North London is delighting his boss.
"Ali was injured for two years and this is the first year since he has arrived that he has been able to have a consistent training regime," said Wenger.
"Since August I have seen him develop almost every week.
"I liked his first goal because he got in between the centre back and the goalkeeper.
"The second goal is a Thierry Henry goal because he ran at the defence - he can do that as well.
"He can play with Henry - they started together at Liverpool - but then everyone can play with Henry.
"It is too early to say whether he can be compared with Henry, who developed slowly and then kept on moving forward.
"To achieve that you need lots of consistency and dedication. Jeremie is only 20 so he still has a long way to go. He has less power than Henry but his movement is excellent.
"We need to let him play and not push him too quickly."
Wenger was delighted with the overall display of his team.
"We had a good mixture of youth and experience but whatever their age, all the players have talent. The spirit was good and you saw that again tonight," he added.
"We played with movement and technique and we could have scored more goals which is incredible when you consider we made 11 changes for this match. I need to praise the whole team because they were all very good."
The Gunners chief was also pleased to see captain Patrick Vieira start his first game for over two months.
"We wanted to play Patrick for an hour but then I left him for five more minutes, and then another five, and then he ended playing the whole match.
"He worked hard and looked sharp. I will wait to see how he responds to tonight before deciding to use him on the weekend. I will make my decision on Thursday morning."
Wolves manager Dave Jones was not happy with his virtually full strength side.
"I am disappointed and frustrated," he said.
"We just didn't turn up and you can't give a side like Arsenal a helping hand like we did for that first goal. Lee has to take responsibility for that.
"It is all well and good to blame the managers or the coaches but I didn't give a back pass out there tonight. The players have to stand up and be counted - they didn't do that. I will take the flack sometimes but not on this occasion."
