Stankovic linked to Inter
After being questioned over the futures of Roberto Mancini and Dejan Stankovic, Lazio general director Giuseppe de Mita did little to ease the fears of the club's supporters.
Manager Mancini and key player Stankovic have both been linked with moves to Internazionale this season and de Mita refused to rule out any potential departures.
He said: "Stankovic and Mancini to Inter? Anything is possible. I know football and that anything can happen."
Talented midfielder Stankovic was linked with Chelsea earlier in the season and with the Serbian's contract close to expiry, it seems certain that speculation will continue regarding his long-term future.
Whilst Lazio officials concede that Stankovic could be a possible departure, de Mita is keen to underline that manager Mancini is under contract for a further four years.
"Whilst Stankovic is close to contract expiry, Mancini has a four-year contract with us. At present these moves seem unlikely."
Speculation in Italy predicts a possible cut-price January move for Stankovic, with Stephane Dalmat returning from a loan spell at Tottenham to move in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, Stankovic has been banned for four games and fined £1000.
