Villarreal injury jinx strikes again

Villarreal full back Javi Venta will be sidelined for between four and six weeks after tearing a leg muscle.

Club doctor Juan Albors confirmed the 28-year-old had sustained a six centimetre tear and would not now return to action until the New Year.

The news will come as a big blow to Yellow Submarines boss Benito Floro who has been plagued by injury problems throughout the campaign.

The Castellon-based outfit have a first-team squad of just 16 professionals, and, at the current time, only 11 of those are fully fit.

Along with Venta, Rodolfo Arruabarrena, Antonio Guayre, Marcos Senna and Javier Calleja are all injured while striker Jose Mari will miss Saturday's home clash with Real Sociedad through suspension.
