Pembridge won't call time on Wales
Many experienced internationals have opted to retire for their country in order to extend their club careers, but that is not a path the former Everton man is ready to go down.
Pembridge feels in excellent shape and has stated if no one is coming through and challenging him for his place, then he is happy to stay.
"Life does not stop for players when they get into their 30s these days," said Pembridge. "The older you get the more experienced you get.
"The way the game is going today, I think players can keep going for a lot longer.
"I cannot see any reason why I should not continue to be involved with Wales. I feel as fit now as I have ever done.
"If there are young players coming through to push you out of your place, you have to be realistic and say let them come through.
"But you cannot see too many youngsters coming through at the moment in my position in midfield."
